Virginia, Alice, and I are heartbroken at the loss of our sister, Ruth Ann. Not only did we lose a sister but we also lost a best friend. The longer the four of us lived the closer we became, sharing deep bonds of love, trust, and shared experiences. We were the four sisters, or aunties, our family looked up to for wisdom, love, entertainment, as as a large part of the bond that holds our family together. Ruth Ann was the mainstay of that bond. As deeply as Virginia, Alice, and I mourn the loss of our sister, we know that the entire family feels the loss just as deeply. I take solace in the blessing we have all had to have known Ruth Ann as sister, mother, aunt, and grandma. She was there for all of us any time we needed her. I can hardly imagine life without her presence but feel truly blessed to have had a sister as caring, as generous, as loving, and as much fun as she was. And I know she loved us as much as we loved her.
