Obituary of Noah D. Oliver

Please share a memory of Noah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Noah Derwood Oliver, 97, passed away April 13, 2016 at Grace Assisted Living in Twin Falls, Idaho. Noah was born September 2, 1918 in Hartville, Missouri to his parents Martha and Harley Oliver. When Noah was 1 ½ years old, his family moved from Missouri to Loveland, CO. Later, they moved to the Delta Hotchkiss area of Colorado before settling in Idaho. Noah married his Sweetheart, the love of his life, Veda Martindale on April 13, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah. To this marriage, they were blessed with four children: Patricia, Kurt, Kent, and Kris. Noah began his career working at a service station in Hansen, panning for gold and farming in the Hansen-Kimberly area. In 1960, Noah and Veda bought their own farm near Twin Falls and raised their family on this farm. After 23 years of farming, Noah retired. He remained active in the farming community as a field man for South Side Bean Company. He was a respected farmer around the Magic Valley, often sought out by local farmers to share his experience and give his advice. Farmers would talk about his outstanding farm and how he knew how to grow various crops. Throughout Noah’s life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and he especially loved spending time with his family. In the winter, one could find him on his snowmobile enjoying rides with friends and family. He was active with the Twin Falls Search and Rescue, Twin Falls Parks and Rec, Twin Falls Canal Company, County Planning and Zoning Commission, Magic Valley Snowmobilers, Twin Falls Grange, and he bowled on various leagues. Noah is survived by his sons, Kent (Lorrie) Oliver of Twin Falls and Kris (Gail) Oliver of Newark, DE and his daughter-in-law Laurie (late Kurt) Oliver of Estes Park, CO; seven grandchildren, Becky (Scott) McDill, David Oliver, Tawnya (Brett Frickey) Oliver, Sara (Jon) Wren, Michael, Jeffrey and Matthew Oliver. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Denzel Martindale and his niece, Pam Quinones. There are several other nieces, nephews, family, and lifelong friends that he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Veda, daughter Patricia and son Kurt as well as his siblings Troy, Bill, Effie, Verba, and Elma. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff and nurses of Grace Assisted Living for the warm loving care they gave him, to the Idaho Home Health and Hospice care providers, and to Dr. Dopps’ office for all of the generous care they provided to Noah. The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday April 23, 2016 at Rosenau Funeral Home 2826 Addison Avenue East, Twin Falls. Rosenau Funeral Home will provide a live streaming of the service.
