Norman Wayne Crider passed away at Chardonnay Assisted Living in Twin Falls, ID April 23, 2016. Norm was born to George and Dorothy (Zion) Crider October 17, 1936 in Wray, CO. Norm’s family lived in Eastern CO, until they moved to the mountains west of Denver. Norm and his brothers walked to a one room school house for their Elementary education up to 8th grade. He graduated from Bear Creek H.S. in 1954. Norm loved to roam the mountains fishing and hunting. He participated in the school activities and sports. Track was his favorite sport. His relay team went to state. He worked part time jobs in the summer wheat harvest, in eastern Colorado. His integrity and deep faith in Jesus as a young man made him a trusted friend too many of his classmates. Some of his favorite hunts with his Dad were with pack horses in the back country for deer and elk. He loved to hunt birds and animals in the desert sagebrush. Norm exceled at trap shooting competition. Norm met Rose Jamieson in high school (his wife of 61 years). They were married a year after graduation and they live in Morrison CO. Norm worked for a Propane Company. He attended C.U. extension night school in Denver. Norm was transferred to a propane management position in Southern CO. Norm, Rose and 4 sons moved to FT. Collins, CO and bought a dairy. They upgraded their dairy herd when they bought a farm in Windsor, CO. In 1968 after their farm/cow auction they moved to Eden, ID where they raised beans and row crops. They moved out of their small house and built a larger home and eventually owned their own farm. Health issues forced Norm to retire. His son Mark helped maintain the homestead. Norm and Rose remained in their home and rented farm ground to a neighbor. Norm received excellent, loving care from the Vision Hospice team and Chardonnay Assisted Living. A special thanks to all the friends, and family, for the love and care you have shown us and to Barb Crider for taking care of Norm when she and Phil would visit each day. Preceding Norm’s death was his son Brian Wayne Crider from a long cancer struggle in July 2015 and his parents George and Dorothy Crider (Norms mom was 101). Norm is survived by his wife Rose, sons, Mark (Darla) Crider, Eden, ID; Joel Crider. Las Vegas, NV.; Dale (Shelly) Crider, Windsor, CO., grandsons, Jared (Mandi) Crider, Jacob (Megan) Crider, David Wayne Crider, Twin Falls, ID.; Colton (Jesse) Crider, Windsor, CO. granddaughter Sarah (Steven) Zylstra, Pullman, WA.; Holly (Zack)Rodman, Windsor, CO.; daughter-in-law, Karen Crider, Twin Falls, three brothers, David (Judy) Crider, Nampa, ID.; Phil (Barb) Crider, Twin Falls, ID; Alan (Joyce) Crider, Caldwell, ID. Norm has 1 great grandson, two step-great grandsons and 5 great granddaughters. A Memorial and graveside service will be held in June and will be announced by Rosenau Funeral Home.
