Lynn Anderton was born September 24, 1924, in Holden, Millard County, Utah. He was the son of Cloyde Anderton and Sophia Wood, and the third of six children. At age 2 the family moved from Holden to Richfield Utah. He has spoken fondly of his growing up on the farm and riding his ponies. Lynn graduated from Richfield High School in 1942. He served in the US Army during WWII as a Radar/Electronics technician in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Japan. He retired as an electronics technician from the US Forest Service in 1980. He had much joy working in his garage shop in Orem where he made toys, funny gifts, and was a fix-it man for all who knew him. Lynn gave a lifetime of volunteer service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including MIA Group Leader during WWII, Elders Quorum President, Bishop's Councilor, Branch President, Bishop and High Councilor. He also served as a missionary in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. He married Doris Cleo Bulkley August 13, 1943 in Richfield and sealed August 16, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They raised seven children. Lynn is survived by a brother, John Wilmer Anderton of Richfield Utah, sisters Faye Perkins of West Valley City Utah, and Mary Louise Anderton Hartle of Salt Lake City Utah, children; Cleo Nadine Anderton Dawes of Spokane Valley Washington, Susan Anderton Perkins of Salt Lake City Utah, Stanley William Anderton of Twin Falls Idaho; Don Carl Anderton, Spokane Valley Washington; Margaret Anderton Batt, Post Falls Idaho; and George Michael Anderton, Pendleton Oregon. Lynn has 31 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Cloyde Anderton, his mother, Sophia Gertrude Wood Anderton, brother Cloyde Anderton of Bountiful Utah, sister Estella Anderton Smith of Murray Utah, first wife Doris Cleo Bulkley (1943-1988), and wife Ida Elizabeth Davis (1991-2013), his oldest son, Stephen Lynn Anderton of DeLand Florida, grandson Daniel McCue, and great grandson Richard Jordan Foster. Memorial service will be held at the LDS Church at 229 Park Avenue, Twin Falls, ID at 11 am on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Interment will be at the Idaho State Veterans cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
