Obituary
Obituary of Tracie J O'Gorman
Please share a memory of Tracie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tracie was born on June 4, 1969, to Ernie O'Gorman and Dee Anne "Dee" Packer in Twin Falls, Idaho. Our beautiful sweet "Tracer" returned home on December 26th, 2016, after a 28 year battle with various medical complications. Always the traveler, Tracie passed away on a road trip while traveling home after visiting family in Montana for Christmas. Tracie survived four liver and three kidney transplants as well as numerous joint replacements. Through it all, she never lost her smile, her faith, or her hope.
Tracie loved learning and teaching. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1987 then spent time abroad in Germany as a foreign exchange student living with a wonderful host family who embraced her as their own. In 2002, she graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University, where she was voted Outstanding Student of the Year.
Had her health cooperated, she would have continued her education to become an international attorney. There wasn't anything about life Tracie didn't love: shopping, shiny shoes, traveling, being Irish, and especially teasing her big brother, Rodney.
She always had a smile (especially bright when the camera came out) and was ready to take on whatever obstacle was thrown at her, tackling it with such grace.
Tracie had a magnetic personality; she simply attracted people and gathered friends wherever she went.
Above all else, Tracie loved her family and dear friends. They were her biggest supporters, best friends, and most trusted caregivers. Throughout all her hospital stays, she never spent a night alone. The late night conversations they shared will be treasured by each of them.
Tracie is survived by her Papa, big brother Rod (Jane Hammett), mother, step-father (Jerry), stepbrothers and sisters (Gene, Jess, Julie, and Jana), many extended family members, and innumerable friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, two uncles, an aunt, and other special family members.
We would like to thank all of the medical personnel who helped care for Tracie; many of you became like family.
Tracie, I've got news for you! Your family and friends miss you dearly but find comfort knowing you are no longer struggling and suffering in pain. You are loved to the moon and back. We love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!
Services will be held December 30th, 2016, at 2:00pm at Rosenau Funeral Home.
Tracie's wish for those who would like to make a donation in her honor is to donate to the Liver Transplant Patient Assistance Fund at Nebraska Medical Center.
