Obituary of Pearl B Dietz
Please share a memory of Pearl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pearl Beams Dietz passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Autumn Wind in Caldwell. From her birth in Cedar Vale, Kansas on November 28, 1933 to her death on Wednesday she touched people around her with her love and sweet spirit. She is survived by her daughter Shari Beams and sons, Denny (Tammy) Beams, Jeff (Mary) Beams, Russell (Sandie) Beams and Tim (Carolyn) Beams.
Winston Churchill once said "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give" If that is true, then Pearl made a great life. She was the most giving and loving person you have ever known.
Pearl was born Pearl Beatrice Mattocks and was the 3rd of four children born to Harold and Alberta Mattocks. She lived in Cedar Vale her young life. In 1951 Pearl married Andrew Johnson, and they had a daughter, Sharon. That marriage ended in divorce. In January 1959 Pearl married Tommy Beams of Buhl, Idaho and together they raised five children, her daughter Sharon, his two sons Denny & Jeff and together they had Russell and Tim. In July of 1983 Tommy died from complications to open heart surgery. Pearl remained on at the farm in Buhl for a few years. After several years alone Pearl was ready to find love again. She did just that, at Ken's Furniture Store in Twin Falls. It was there she met Calvin Dietz. After a two year courtship Pearl and Calvin were married in May of 1989 and with that union Pearl gained two wonderful "daughters", Darla (Jerry) Steglich and Cathy (Jim) Jensen.
Pearl and Calvin lived out their golden years traveling in their motor home. They loved it. They would travel to see family and friends and travel south to get away to a warmer climate in Arizona. They met many friends along the way. Pearl and Calvin were active members of the Twin Falls First Church of the Nazarene. Pearl devoted many hours to the organizing of church funeral dinners. The first of every week you could find Pearl at the church organizing the music for the following week. Pearl also devoted many hours to making Porcelain Dolls. They were exquisite and it gave her great joy.
For twenty five years you could find Pearl and her walking buddy Janet walking laps around the Twin Falls Mall or walking the local neighbor hoods. You could also find Pearl and "Papa" Calvin eating at Taco Bell, again, often surrounded by church friends.
Pearl was a remarkable Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was a person of great devotion, love and compassion. Above all, Pearl believed in family and she always wanted everyone to "get along". Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Besides her seven adult children Pearl has nineteen grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother, and her husbands; Tommy Beams and Calvin Dietz.
