Obituary
Obituary of Doris Winifred Scherupp
Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris Winifred Scherupp, 91, of Twin Falls, Idaho, was carried home in the arms of angels to live eternally with her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2017. Doris slipped away peacefully with her children at her side after a very long and supremely courageous battle with cancer.
Doris was born in Twin Falls on January 23, 1926, to Winifred and John Clyde Poe. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Ronald LeRoy Scherupp. Doris is survived by children, Kent (Kendi) Scherupp of Twin Falls; Linda (Mike) O'Connor of Puyallup, WA; grandchildren Krysta (Paul) Melni of Twin Falls; Darrin (Mary) Hatcher of Puyallup, WA and Mark Hatcher of Puna, Hawaii; great grandchildren Brayden and Oliver Melni of Twin Falls; Caleb, Luke, Sarah and Rebecca Hatcher of Puyallup, WA; Addison Hatcher of Florida; Robin Hatcher of Oregon, and Julian Hatcher of Iowa, as well as her two sisters Lorene Mulder and Juanita Stettler both of Twin Falls.
Doris moved with her parents and two sisters to a farm southeast of Kimberly where she lived until 1944. She loved working in the garden and fields and helping with the many chores. She attended school in Kimberly, graduating in 1944. It was there that she met her future husband Ronald. After graduation Doris moved to Twin Falls and worked for the Twin Falls County Courthouse as a tax roll clerk and then as a Deputy Assessor. During this time Ronald was serving in the Army in WWII. They were married while Ron was home on furlough in 1945. Doris continued working as Deputy Assessor until the spring of 1950 when she retired to raise a family. A daughter, Linda was born in 1950 and a son Kent was born in 1954. Doris loved being a homemaker, wife and mother, more than anything in the world. She enjoyed growing flowers, decorating her home, cooking wonderful meals and going on family vacations. Her joy was her children and she was very active in all of their activities.
Doris adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves them as well as her children with special and wonderful memories shared, as well as a strong Christian heritage and an abundance of love and compassion. She will forever be missed, but we will feel her presence in our hearts and we are blessed with the memories she leaves us with always. The family would like to sincerely thank all of those at Brookdale Assisted Living, Visions Home Health and Hospice and Dr. Laucius for their loving care and support of our mom and for us. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday May 28, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E, Twin Falls. Wear bright colors! Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
