Obituary of Fernando V Silva

Fernando V. Silva, 76 of Twin Falls passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home. He was born February 2, 1941 in Pedro Miguel, Faial, Acores, Portugal to Jacinto Silva and Maria do Ceu Silva. Fernando loved to fish and do woodworking. In 1962 He married Maria P. Duarte on June 2 in Pedro Miguel, Faial, Acores, Portugal. Fernando and Maria (Paulina) moved from the Acores along with their son in 1966, to California. They lived in various cities in California, Newark, Union City, and Modesto. They settled in Newark where they lived until moving to Idaho in 2007. Fernando is the youngest son of 12 children. He is a member of St. Edward's Catholic Parish in Twin Falls, the Magic Valley Portuguese Hall in Wendell and volunteered for Buhl IDES. He is survived by his wife Maria Paulina Silva of 55 years; his only son Joe F. Silva (Grace) of Twin Falls; 4 grandchildren: Mario J. Silva (Patricia) of Turlock, California; Daniel C. Silva, Jeremy J. Silva and Dominic A. Silva of Twin Falls; 5 sisters: Ana Pinheiro of San Jose, California, Eduina Silva of Livermore, California, Alice Pereira of Escalon, California, Idalina Gomes of Tracy, California and Mary Silva of Tracy, California; lots of nieces and nephews in Idaho and California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacinto Vieira Silva and Maria do Ceu Silva, brothers: Frank Silva, Antonio Silva, Jacinto Silva, Jose V. Silva and his sister Maria Correira; nephews Tommy Pinheiro, David Silva, Raymond Silva, David Pereira and Joey Alves and Niece: Diane Gomes. Visitation and Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 15 at Rosenau Funeral Home with Father Mike St. Marie. The funeral Mass will be at held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 16 at St Edward's Catholic Church. Burial will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Park.
