Obituary of Debra Ann Taylor

Debra Ann Taylor (Sartin) was born to Hartsell and Shirley (Yancy) Sartin on August 27, 1960 in Madera, California. Debbie, as she was known her entire life, grew up in Chowchilla, California having many adventures, and some misadventures, with her friends, but especially her older sister, Diane. Debbie attended Chowchilla Union High, graduating in 1978. In 1979, Debbie and Diane decided to get out on their own, and moved to their own apartment in Woodland, California. Married in the beginning of 1980, Debbie started her own family, having three sons. Second only to her faith in God, her family was the most important aspect of her life. All three of her boys will attest that she was a great mom. In 1990, her life changed, when she and her family moved to Southern Idaho. After a few moves, they eventually settled in Filer, Idaho. Shortly after moving to Idaho, Debbie and her family began attending Bethel Temple Apostolic Church. The church quickly became part of her family and she loved her church. She was very involved, helping in choir, Sunday school, and the bus ministry. Debbie believed the Apostolic Message with all her heart and, although life wasn't always easy or nice to her, everyone that knew her can say that she was a true Christian. Debbie's family grew when two of her boys were married. She loved her daughters-in-law like her own daughters. She was especially thankful for the impact they had on Christmas and birthdays. They made sure she quit getting the same old presents and made sure she got presents. But what she loved them the most for, was her grandkids. Of all her titles, she was Grammy first and foremost. Debbie loved her grandkids and Grammy was the name she cherished most. Although most of her hobbies involved credit cards and shopping, her favorite hobby was just being with her grandkids. She was the kind of grandma other grandmas should look to as a role-model, and her daughters-in-law learned a lot from her. In February of 2017, it was discovered that Debbie had cancer. Through her sickness and pain, she never questioned God, she didn't complain, and she always had a great attitude. Debbie's faith in God could not be shaken, not by hardship, not by loneliness, not by cancer, and not even by death. She passed away peacefully, without pain, on the morning of June 19th, in the presence of her family, her pastor, and her God. Though her family misses her dearly, they take comfort knowing she is with her Lord. We can't wait to see you again someday mom. We love you. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her siblings, Diane (Bill) Maxwell of Twin Falls, Idaho and Jerry (Stephanie) Sartin of Pocatello, Idaho. She is also survived by her sons, Donny (Lisa) Taylor of Kimberly, Idaho, Patrick Taylor of Gooding, Idaho, and Andy (Brianne) Taylor of Lebanon, Oregon. She is also survived by all her beloved grandkids, Garrett, Ryan, Ellie, Hank, and Lillian Taylor. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff at St. Luke's Magic Valley (especially Dr. Robison, Dr. Enders, and the staff of the 3rd and 4th floors), the staff of Mountain States Tumor Institute, the staff and owners of Chardonnay Assisted Living, Hospice Visions, Pastor and Sister Collins, and the Bethel Temple Apostolic Church congregation. Thanks for taking care of our mom through the toughest time of her life. Words cannot express our gratitude. Debbie's funeral service will be held at Bethel Temple Apostolic Church, 929 Hankins Road, in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Monday, June 26th at 2pm.
