We mourn the loss of our beloved mother. Even though she fought illness throughout her adult life, she always managed to support her children when they needed her. She was amazing at making all of her children and grandchildren feel included and important to her. She kept her family close with her love and concern for every one of them. She was the glue that held the family together throughout many trials and tribulations of this life. We all have fond memories of her embracing life through her love of the outdoors. She loved traveling and spent time in Germany and much of the Western U.S.! She had a childlike enthusiasm for experiencing unfamiliar places and new sights. We could not keep her awake for a minuet if she sat in a chair, but get her in a car and take a drive and she was wide awake pointing out all the sights to see, even if it was just a volkswagon bug painted BSU colors or a big wine bottle to advertise the Winery on the hill. What a love she had for life. Our mom worked hard as a young woman in the fruit orchards to make extra money so we could have a new outfit to wear the first day of school, and boy could she make a dollar stretch, and talk about stretch she made a meal go along, long way. Our mom was and accomplished cake decorator and loved to explore her artistic abilities in this venue. Most of her decorating was free handed. Customer's came from miles away to have one of her decorated cakes. If you were lucky, you may have received one of the rocks that she loved painting. She had the ability to see animal shapes in the formation of a rock and bring it to life. She would also add a little drawing of baby animals when she wrote you a letter, for her grandchildren especially. Jean provided our family with a loving, nurturing home that allowed us to see the value in ourselves and in each other. She gave us a strong foundation in faith and it gives her family peace knowing she had a strong belief in the resurrection and love for Jehovah. Everyone who met you loved you, way too many to name, Love you to the moon and back Momma!!!! We will miss you dearly.
