Laura Andrews, 72, died Saturday morning at her home after a rapid two-month battle with lung and bone cancer. Laura Virginia Andrews was born Oct. 11, 1940 to Gordon and Martha Bennett in Filer. She received the Lord as her Savior at age twelve and was later baptized in a canal south of Buhl. She attended Deep Creek Country School and then graduated from Buhl High School in 1958. In 1960 she married Virgil Andrews at the Buhl Free Will Baptist Church. Loving to play the piano, she willingly gave of her talent to play hymns and gospel choruses at church from the time she was fourteen years of age until arthritis prohibited her from playing a couple years ago. She taught Sunday School for many years, loved and sacrificed for her family, and laughed with friends. Gardening, enjoying flowers, home making, fishing for catfish, and oil painting scenic pictures were her favorite past times. She traveled to craft shows and relished the memories of travelling to Brazil with brother, Herschel, to visit her sister, Nadine Howe. She is survived by her husband Virgil Andrews, siblings Owen Bennett, Herschel (Sandy) Bennett, Nadine (Duane) Howe, Harley (Sharon) Bennett, and Leslie (Shirl) Bennett, children Teresa (Tom) Rippee and Wes (Cathy) Andrews, and grandchildren Andrea, Nathan, and Bradley Rippee, Haylee Andrews, Sam and Alyssa.
