Ace made it his mission to establish sports as a diversion from the every day grind of medical school, although he had a hard time getting anyone to play golf with him......especially for money. My best memory is the intramural basketball team that we put together. We were well able to compete with and keep up with the undergraduate teams. He was an integral part of one of the great classes to ever pass through medical school at the U. Ace was quiet and unassuming........considering that the name A C Emery is scrolled on the bottom of my graduation certificate.
It was also my good fortune to welcome him to the Magic Valley, as I practiced in Jerome. I was never hesitant to call on him for a consult. It was good to have someone from the Class of 1969 nearby.
And then there is the memory of being able to officiate at the marriage of Jenny and Mark.
He was a quiet man......a gifted physician..........
