Obituary of Brenda L. May

Please share a memory of Brenda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brenda Lee (Berlin)May was called home to the Lord on January 13, 2021 at St. Lukes Magic Valley Regional Medical Center with her children by her side after battling COVID Pneumonia for over 30 days in the hospital. She fought hard, but God had other plans for her to be reunited with her beloved son, Wade Lee May. Brenda was born in Fargo, ND, on January 31, 1957 to Kenneth Donovan Berlin and Geraldine Della (Klundt) Berlin. Brenda had two siblings, Linda (Berlin) Vance and Rocky Berlin. In 1960, Brenda, Linda, Rocky and their mother, Geraldine, moved to Twin Falls, ID. Brenda completed elementary school through high school in Twin Falls. She also completed two years at the College of Southern Idaho. Throughout high school and college Brenda enjoyed cheerleading, worked many hours in the farm fields, and worked at Taco Bandito. Brenda graduated high school in 1976. In 1977, Brenda was married to David Lee May and later had three children; Travis, Sommer and Wade. They lived in Jerome, ID on a family farm from 1983-1989 and she worked many years as a secretary at Universal Frozen Foods. In 1990, they all moved to Seattle, WA and Brenda worked part-time as a secretary and as a full time mom to her three children. In 1996, the May family rebar business brought Brenda and her family to Hillsboro, OR. While in Oregon, Brenda obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree and continued her education in Dental Hygiene at OHSU. Brenda was a wonderful dental hygienist and worked for Dr. Janice Kalina and Dr. Rod Johnson in Oregon. After divorcing in early 2007, Brenda moved to Arizona to spend time near her daughter, Sommer and her family. Brenda had always dreamed of living in the sunshine state and she enjoyed it for many years. In Arizona, she continued her dental hygiene career and last worked for Dr. Shylah Gabriel, enjoyed the Arizona sun, and life with her grandkids. She often traveled back to Oregon to visit her son, Wade, and her son, Travis, and his family, who she loved dearly. Brenda was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, the same cancer her mother passed away with, in January 2019. She completed ten rounds of radiation and numerous rounds of chemotherapy on a monthly basis for a year. In 2020, Brenda went into remission but continued chemotherapy every couple months. While living in Arizona, she gained a passion for home decorating. She loved everything around her to be beautiful and took pride in her own fashion and style AND PILLOWS! She was beyond unique and always brought us many laughs. Brenda loved to have fun and this is how we will always remember her. In July 2020, Brenda moved back home to Twin Falls to be surrounded by more of her family. She enjoyed the feel of the small town and looked forward to new memories. Unexpectedly, Brenda’s youngest son, Wade, passed away on September 27th, 2020, which left Brenda broken hearted. In November 2020, Brenda completed one of her very last rounds of chemotherapy after which she later contracted COVID-19. She fought hard, but ultimately God called her home to be with her son, Wade. Brenda was strong, gorgeous, fun, loving, caring, happy, feisty, and the life of the party. She could bring fun into any room and she was very social and had many great and loving friends. She enjoyed spending time talking on her phone catching up with friends for hours on end. Brenda loved to get dressed up and look her best at ALL times. She loved her family dearly and had a special bond with her sister, Linda. She loved cooking for her family and taking care of her children, who were her ultimate pride and joy. She was not afraid to live her life to its fullest and we are all so blessed to have so many wonderful memories with her. Brenda will be beyond missed.
