Ruby Schick Eldredge (1921 – 2021)
Ruby was born July 4, 1921 in Riverton, Utah to George Schick and Neeltje Pieterje Westbroek Schick. She was the ninth child in a family of eleven children. She was married and sealed to her husband, William Washington Eldredge on September 27, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ruby died on January 31, 2021 at the Bridgeview Estates, a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Twin Falls, Idaho. Her family is especially grateful to those who cared for her amid the many restrictions and difficulties presented by the COVID-19 Pandemic. She was ninety-nine years of age at her death.
Her family consisted of four brothers: George, Herman, Erwin, and Marvin Schick and six sisters: Nellie, Mabel, Gertrude, Violet, Pearl, and Esther Schick. The family resided in Utah, Idaho, and Washington State. Farming was the general means of providing essentials for the family.
The children often had to walk long distance to attend school, sometimes in a neighboring town. Medical assistance was often hard to obtain. The family moved often because of crop failure, losing cattle to disease and even flooding while residing in Deer Park, Washington. Farming was also their way of life.
Ruby and William (Bill) were parents to two daughters: Nellie Eldredge Boehm and Betty Jean Eldredge Daniels and two sons: William Dale Eldredge and Gary Russell Eldredge
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband, all of her siblings and her two sons, Granddaughter Kim Boehm, and son-in-law Kenneth Roland Boehm.
She is survived by her two daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the Rosenau Funeral Home at 2826 Addison Ave E, Twin Falls, Idaho beginning at 11:00 a.m. Her body will be laid to rest at the West End Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho.
