Obituary of Valdi Ruth Roberts Parish

Valdi Roberts Parish, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in Twin Falls, Idaho, surrounded by her family. She was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on January 22, 1944, to Kenneth Edward Roberts and Ayleen Parish-Roberts. She lived on the farm in Eden until she was 5. The family then moved to their farm North of Jerome. She graduated high school at Jerome High School in 1962, then attended Links School of Business in Boise to become a medical secretary. In 1974 she moved to Shoshone where she raised her two boys. After retiring she moved to Twin Falls to be closer to her family and friends. Over the years she held different jobs. Safeway Market in Jerome, several doctor’s offices in Nevada and California, Jerome Hospital, Lincoln County Nursing Home in Shoshone and the USPS as a rural mail carrier retiring in 2004 after 29 years. Valdi truly loved doing crafts. It was not uncommon to find her making someone a cake, quilting a blanket, sewing up a wedding dress, painting a picture or digging up and planting a garden. She also loved to travel with her friends but most of all with her brother Mark. Surviving are her two boys Kent (Dawn) Parish and Brian (Laurena) Parish. Her grandchildren, Allison (Ryan) Heller, Brian (Anita) Lara, Camiao Parish, Cody (Nica) Parish, Jeremy Hurst, Lee (Shao-Lin) Hurst and her great-grandchildren, Aaron Lara, Constance Heyne, Hayden Heyne and Jacobi Lara. She had many nieces and nephews that she was very fond of. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers, Kenneth (Dick) Roberts, Doniphen Roberts and Mark Roberts. At Mom’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those desiring to can donate to The Mustard Seed, 702 Main Avenue North, Twin Falls, ID 83301. The family will be hosting a celebration of her life on July 24, 2021 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the Shoshone city park.
