Obituary of Mary Louise Darwin
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
From her first spark to her last ember, Mary Darwin was surrounded by love. Mary was born on December 15, 1956, to Delores Gaines (Clawson) and William Gaines. She left this world on June 25, 2021.
Mary was the youngest of seven (7) siblings. She has three (3) sisters, Linda, Cheryl, and Susan. She had three (3) brothers, all of which predeceased her, Robert (Bobbi), William (Billy), and John (Johnny).
Mary worked as a manager in retail for most of her professional career at K-Mart. However, her true vocation was being a mother and grandmother. Her first marriage was to Michael Palmer. She has three (3) children with Scott Niven, her eldest and only son, Robert Niven, Jennifer Platts (Niven), and Amber Niven-Jones. She has five (5) grandchildren, Rush’l, Matthew, Kaylee, Austin, and Parker, and two (2) great grandchildren, Remington and Easton. Mary was married to her beloved Steve Darwin.
She will be dearly missed by all she left behind. She was the tie that binds and a true matriarch of the family. She carried the heavy burden of her illness for many years with grace and though she dwindled physically, her spirit and love always shined through in the boldest light. Although she was in great pain and exhausted in her last years, she spent what energy she had on others, especially her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Her absence has left a void that cannot be readily healed, but we remember her; she left an example of courage, strength, kindness, and motherhood for all of us that she has left behind. Godspeed Mary and we will see you in the light hereafter.
Mary’s celebration of life will be held at the Rosenau Funeral Home at 2826 Addison Avenue, Twin Falls, Idaho at 10:00 a.m. on August 7th, 2021. All those who wish to come to remember and honor Mary are welcome.
