Rex was a prime example of the fact that God has a sense of humor. We have been privileged to know and love him for over 30 years, and will miss him so much. His quick wit always kept us on our toes- there was only one Rexy...
Sandee, Andee and family- we are all so sorry he has passed, but we are all fortunate to have known and shared our time on this earth with him. All our love- Dr Tim Thompson, Sylvia, Sheri, Marla, Tiffany, and Amber

This is Rex's sister Sandy
I received a lovely card from Temple and Diane Baldwin and I want to share a very fun memory:
As Temple was getting to know Rex he would wave to Rex as he drove by. One day Temple waved to him instead of Rex waving back he, "Mooned" Temple yup with booth cheeks !!! We laughed and laughed saying "Well he's going to fit right in !!!" He knew how to put a smile on your face. Heaven doesn't know what they are in for. I hope sharing this also put's a smile on your face too.
She closed by blessing the whole family and saying you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you Diane for sharing this story.

I had the pleasure of knowing Rex while I worked at the DMV. He always, always had a colorful joke which he told with a straight and serious face. Hugs and prayers to Andrea and family.

I recall Rex as the salesman who sold me my first John Deere tractor in the early '80s. He had sold tractors to my friend Jerry Seedall, and Jerry introduced Rex to me. Rex was very easy to work with and a special acquaintance. Nels Moller

Dear Brother
What can I say except I will miss you a lot. want to share a few memories.
I can remember when we lived on the Fisher property in the front was a wheeling willow tree, well one both you and Byrd tied both myself and Monica to the tree and teased us with water snakes after screaming for help and no one to help you two let us go then chased us sat on us and threatened to spit in our face if we told mom or dad.
I can remember the Xmas you bought your girlfriend a gift and didn’t buy any other gift boy were we mad, as we bought you a fun gift.
I remember all of the times you came to see me in Arizona when Sandee was on a mission trip for her church. On my day off you would say let’s go seeking and we would take off to old mining towns of course you always wanted to take a new road. The road always led home with the gas gauge approaching empty a few scary moments but what a fun time.
You always like to give me advice but I more than not let it go in one ear and out the other. I know it made you mad but scolding me did no good.
Upon moving back to Idaho and that first Christmas you ask me to carry on the family tradition and host the Hot Tamale Pie party which I did and will keep doing as it makes me happy. Both you and Travis will be missed.
I loved just stopping by to see you and get caught up on family and friends. I can remember the time I stopped by and saw Everett on the floor with toys and Cheerios all over and Everett scooting across the floor after a cheerio. I said great way to baby sit you laughed and sad he’s having fun.
One more memory is you inviting me to the LaCasita for mexican food, let me tell you brother dear it is the worst Mexican food.
ever.
These are only a few memories I have I will share others at your Celebration of Life party and will have toast you with a Whisky.
Love you your favorite sister Sandy

I was saddened to read of Rex’s passing. His obituary was a pleasure to read and brought many memories of fun times when we worked at Buttrey Foods many years ago. He kept us all laughing and on our toes, waiting for his next prank. Such a truly nice guy. My thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort are with all of his family. Gay (Johnson) Downs

I have a visual picture in my mind of some big - and I mean BIG - tighty whitey underwear. Some joke between my Mom (Connie Hardy) and Rex. But I always wondered where he got them because they didn't look store bought new. With Rex you just never could tell and anything was possible. And when I asked, his answer almost always left me blushing. He was a colorful story teller. I will miss him.

What a life loving guy he was. Always had a funny antidote or joke to share. But the one thing I will remember him for is his LOVE for his wife Sandy, she was his everything. For that I respected him greatly. I envision a wonderful welcome to heaven celebration with GEORGE, MONICA, VENUS & BILL. They have waited a very long time to hug him once again. Know that they are all together happy, healthy and helping Travis on his heavenly journey too. My heart breaks for the people here on earth, but happy they have reunited in GOD's loving kindness.
