Obituary of Stephen James Gilbert

Steve Gilbert passed away peacefully on October 21st in his home after battling Cancer.
Steve was born in Seattle, WA July 17, 1948 and raised in Helena, MT. by his parents Dwane and Dorothy Gilbert. He grew up with five siblings; Doug Gilbert, (deceased), Patty Ann Gilbert Moore (deceased); Robert Gilbert, (deceased); Carolyn Gilbert Gill (deceased); Linda Gilbert White, (deceased) and Michael Gilbert, living in California.
Steve’s immediate family is his wife Janice, his two sons Brandon and Jason and his two grandchildren Sailen and Ariel. The whole family resides in Twin Falls ID.
After graduating in Odessa, WA; Steve enlisted in the USMC and served for four years and for two years served in Viet Nam where he contracted his cancer through Agent Orange.
When returning home in Roberts, ID he meant his wife Janice Halford and was married January 22, 1970. Celebrating their 50th anniversary.
Steve went into law enforcement working on varies Agencies. Frederick MD City Police, Mounted Police, Frederick MD; Mohave County Sheriffs Dept, AZ; Lake Havasu City Police Dept; US Marshall, in Denver CO; and then on the Home Land Security. He was last assigned to McFerran Air Port in Las Vegas where him and his family lived for five years before retiring.
Steve moved his family back to Idaho and settled here in Twin Falls. Steve loved it here and worked with his church, New Covenant United Reformed Church, and with the Veteran’s. His wife Janice worked by his side. They were best of friends. We will miss him greatly.
Viewing will be on November 4, 2021 At Rosenau from 6pm to 8pm
The Memorial will be November 5, 2021 at the Grace Baptist Church Gymnasium behind the Church at 10am. The Burial will follow and is at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl, ID. A lunch will be back at the gymnasium for close friends and family and those who have traveled to rejoice with Steve’s family that he is with his Lord and Savior, and is completely healed. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
