Obituary of Betty Benefiel

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Betty Ina McKissock Benefiel, age 91, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving children on October 10, 2021, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Betty was married to Bob Benefiel for 69 years until his passing in 2019. Through thick and thin she stood by him as an example of a promise made and kept. She was his rock. She was born on July 15, 1930, to R.C. and Jessie McKissock in Los Angeles, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruthe McKissock Brown Eastin, and her Granddaughter Megan Lednisky. She believed in education. She returned to the classroom and became a graduate of the first nursing class at the College of Southern Idaho in 1968. Due to this love of education, she joined PEO which supports women in their educational endeavors. Betty and Bob had five children. Deborah Benefiel Howard (Spring Creek NV) daughter Katie Lednisky; Virginia Benefiel Grooms (Hagerman, Id) husband Robert, children Robert Watkins and Lisa Pearson; Robert Benefiel (Riverside CA) wife Pam, children Robin Covarrubias and Brandon Benefiel; David Benefiel (Twin Falls Id) wife Janet, children Kevin Benefiel and Jason Benefiel; and Bruce Benefiel (Twin Falls Id) wife Jil, son Ryan. Her children were privileged to be with her as she said her final goodbyes. Betty had 6 Great-grandchildren: Kepa, Aly and Lea, Mathieu and Brett, and her newest, Jackson. She was their biggest supporter in whatever they endeavored to do. Her newest, Jackson, will be regaled with stories about her and her joyful soul. She could put a stick in the ground and grow beautiful flowers. She could take the simplest ingredient and create a delicious meal. She could take a hand and make anyone feel welcome. Betty was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Twin Falls, Idaho. She was the first to volunteer for any project. She played bells with the church bell choir which gave her great joy. Betty will be remembered for her kindness, faith in God, volunteering spirit and how much she loved and helped to shape her family. She was the glue that held us together. We can never thank her enough for caring for us with such passion. Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 30 at 1:00. In Lieu of flowers a donation to the PEO International Education fund would be appreciated. This can be sent to Deborah Howard, 302 Northglen Dr. Spring Creek, Nevada 89815.
