Jesse (Jess) Arnold Harrell 75 of Kimberly Idaho passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday November 13 2021. He was born on April 26 1946 to Nona and Ernest Harrell on a small ranch northeast of Roy Montana on Crooked Creek. Due to a snowstorm, they didn’t get him to a hospital until April 28,1946 which is the recorded date of birth. He was the 4th of 10 children, 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Lewis, Patsy, Tom, Ernie, Edna, Danny Joe, Mike, Tim, and Tamie. Being Born on this ranch Jess began the farm and ranch life, a life he would never get tired of. Here he learned to ride horses, cows, sheep, (whenever his dad wasn’t around), and anything he could get on. He also learned to drive farm equipment and other motor vehicles on the farm. Jess attended Roy High School where he was involved with all sports including his all-time favorite Rodeo. He graduated in 1964. In 1966 Jess enlisted in the Navy where he would spend his next 21 years stationed at Bremerton Washington, Long Beach California, San Diego California, Adak Alaska, El Centro California. He worked first as a mechanic on navy ships and later transferred into the military police working with the K9 dogs and eventually retiring in 1987 from his last duty station in Charleston South Carolina. In 1968 while stationed in Bremerton Washington Jess met the love of his life and eternal companion Gayle Ann Worthington at the Gold & Green Ball. He would spend the next 52 years of happiness with her. They were married on September 24, 1969 and later sealed in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple on June 21, 1971. Through this marriage they had 4 sons Evert, Jeremy, Arron, and Chris. Jess and Gayle were blessed to be foster parents to many kids, 2 of which remain in their lives as daughters, Kaila and Maliegha. Upon retiring from the Navy in 1987 Jess and Gayle made their way out to Idaho where they would make their home In Kimberly being involved with the youth of the community. Jess worked at The Amalgamated Sugar Factory in Twin Falls for 19 years retiring in 2007. His sons kept him busy with all aspects of life including, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Scouting, Filer Junior Riding Club and his favorite, Rodeo. He was a coach, scout leader, referee for high school football and basketball, founder of the Kimberly Youth Association and the Kimberly High school Rodeo Director. From 1994-2017 he was involved with the 6th District High School Rodeo association where he found his favorite position as Rough Stock Director and gained many friendships even after his boys graduated. Due to health reasons he grudgingly had to give this up. This was his passion and love. He was a coach to many kids in and out of the Kimberly Youth association including his kids and grandkids. He drove Bus for the Kimberly School District for a few years and loved the kids like his own. Jess had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping and the great outdoors and was a master at Dutch oven cooking. He could cook anything in the Dutch oven and thoroughly enjoyed sharing his meals with anyone he came in contact with. During his years following his health problems Dad remained strong following his kids, grandkids, in all their activities and trips. He had a huge heart and love for all animals but most of all his horses, in which he passed on to his kids and grandkids. Dad was a friend to everyone and would be the first to offer his help and support with anything and everything. He was dedicated and committed to his Family, his community, his church and his Country. His kind heart and love has been passed on through his kids, and grandkids which he loved even in his final days. Jess has 10 grandkids and 2 great grandkids with one on the way. Jess is survived by his wife Gayle Ann Worthington Harrell of Kimberly Idaho, Four sons Evert Harrell of Kimberly Idaho, Jeremy (Lynette) Harrell of New Braunfels Texas, Arron Harrell of Taylorsville Utah and Chris Harrell of Twin Falls Idaho, 2 Daughters Kaila of Rock Springs Wyoming, And Maliegha of Gainesville Florida, 10 grandkids Sierra (Conor), Garrett (Victoria), Kalab, Dainera (Kyle), Alexis (Victor), Tyler, Jazmine, Madison, Cavin and Nathaniel. He is also survived by 4 brothers Lewis (Mona), Ernie (Irene), Mike (Kass), and Tim (Susan), 3 Sisters Patsy (Wayne) Heppner, Edna (Larry) Crouch, and Tamie (Kevin) Ramsey and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, Uncles and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents Ernest and Nona Harrell, and 2 brothers Danny Joe Harrell and Tom Harrell and both sets of grandparents. Dad can now ride the open range on his granddaughter’s horse Daybreak with his Dog Sheeba by his side going from rodeo to rodeo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home 2826 Addison Ave. E Twin Falls Idaho. Viewing Is Friday November 19 2021 from 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday November 20, 2021 at the Kimberly LDS Stake center 3850 N 3500 E Kimberly Idaho at 1 pm with a viewing 1 hour prior to services. Graveside service will be at Sunset Memorial following the church service.
