Obituary of Ann White

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ann Haslam White, 78, of Twin Falls, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her children. She was born on February 24, 1943 to James Riggs and Martha Neilson Haslam in Trenton, Utah. The youngest of eight children, Ann was doted upon by her siblings and was never lacking for attention. Her oldest sister, Joyce, enjoyed taking her to town when she was an infant, pretending to be her mother. Ann spent her young childhood in Lewiston, Utah, before moving to Filer, Idaho with her parents, at age ten. She shared fond memories of living on the range with her parents, as her father herded sheep during the summers of her early teen years. When Ann met John Conrad White, she knew a good thing when she found it. The sweethearts were married on April 3, 1959 at her parents’ home in Filer, Idaho. To this union, three children were born. On April 30, 1966, their marriage was solemnized and an eternal family was formed in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. As a young wife, Ann helped sustain the family by driving school bus, selling Avon, and working in the deli at Smith’s Food King. After earning her Associate’s degree in bookkeeping from the College of Southern Idaho, Ann enjoyed her work as inventory manager at Jensen’s Jewelers for a number of years. She was also the bookkeeper for Dr. Randall Skeem for several years. She made many friends through her work as a bank teller at First Federal Bank. She was a favorite among the customers and always put a smile on the faces of those she interacted with. She loved to make people laugh and would offer up a joke, likely a bit dirty, the first chance she got. Ann was always spunky and full of life. She was so much fun to be around, always looking for her next shenanigan to pull. She gravitated towards children, who also seemed to love her as much as she did them. Her children and grandchildren have fond memories spent outdoors with her; baseball games in the pasture, camping, hunting, and anything to do with their various types of animals. She instilled in her kids her passion for the outdoors, her sense of humor, her zest for life, and her love of family. Ann was always very talented with crochet, sewing, and many other crafts. Her favorite place to be was in the mountains, camping and 4-wheeling with her sweetheart and their Schnauzers. When she wasn’t camping on the weekends, she was at a horse show, ball game, or recital, supporting her grandchildren. Ann is preceded in death by her beloved sweetheart, John, her parents, three sisters; Joyce Porter, Vera Taylor, and Flourice Gregory Sparks, three brothers; James (Jim) Haslam, Harold Haslam, and Bud Haslam. She is survived by her sons, Kelly (Debra) White of Kimberly and Stan (Shon) White of Filer, as well as daughter Wendy (Ron) Kerr of Twin Falls, her favorite brother, Neils Haslam, of Twin Falls, close friend and sister-in-law, Evelyn Haslam, six grandchildren, and nine, soon to be ten, great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Friday, November 19th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 541 Orchard Dr, Twin Falls, Idaho. The funeral will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 20th, with a viewing from 9:00am-9:45am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 541 Orchard Dr, Twin Falls, Idaho.
