Jimmy Allen (Jim) Knutz passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 9th at his home in Twin Falls at the age of 75. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, including his children, Heidi Bice (Kelton) of Boise, Sean Knutz (Anna) of Twin Falls, Brandon Knutz (Barbara) of Mtjlschbach, Germany, and Sharman Watt (Doug) of Bend, Oregon. Six grandchildren, Amanda Alger, Tessa Jacob, William Jacob, Wyatt Knutz, AIiza Watt, Addison Watt, Bailey Knutz, and Braelynn Knutz. Jim also was a Great Grandfather to two great grand-daughter's with another on the way. Jim was preceded in death his parents Emil and lzeta Knutz, and by his wife of 31 years, Melissa (Lisa) Jane Kinyon Knutz. Jim was born in Redwood City, California in 1946. He attended San Carlos high school where he was a record setting cross country runner. ln 1965 he married Gloria Blank, with whom he had two children Heidi and Sean. He later married Janis Whiteker, with whom he had two more children, Brandon and Sharman. ln 1985 lim married a third time, to the love of his life Lisa Winson, with whom he shared two stepdaughters. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, choosing to relocate from California to Idaho, in the early 70's, where he had spent part of his youth. Each Fall he would go on yearly hunts in Sawtooth mountains and spent days with his family and friends camping and riding motorcycles across the state of Idaho. He enjoyed water sports, rafting or Kayaking down the rivers of Southern Idaho. Jim was also a pilot who owned five different airplanes and ultra-lites throughout his life. Jim was an explorer and spent days wandering around the hills and mountains of Southern Idaho and Northern Nevada. Most people will remember him for the massive ATV trips that he would organize in the summers for friends and family, with whom would come in from all over the world. Jim will be cremated at the request of his family. A memorial service will be held for him over the July 4th holiday, 2022, where his children will scatter his ashes over the Jarbidge Mountains, and Pine Idaho.
