Obituary of Judith Hanchey
Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judy peacefully went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Jan, 19, 2013. Judy's life transcends anything that mere words can describe. But, if her life was to be summed up in one word it would be the word "Inspiration". She inspired us all through her love of music, singing and her positive attitude in the way she lived. The things she did were reflected through the type of person she was. Judy was adopted at 6 weeks old by wonderful parents David and Elizabeth Bailey and was raised in a Christian home along with her younger sister and brother. She graduated from Capuchino High School in San Bruno, CA. Judy met her handsome sailor, Gary, during the summer of 1956 in Sunday School and they were married in 1957. By 1964 they were blessed with 4 children and this past September they celebrated 55 years of marriage! Judy and Gary spent their first year of marriage in Idaho, moved to San Bruno and then in 1973 returned to Idaho where they enjoyed 21 years of country living in Kimberly. In 1994 they moved to Twin Falls, where they have lived with love these past 19 years. Despite her physical trials throughout most of her adult life, Judy never complained. She always had a beautiful smile on her face, was an encouragement to all that knew her, and will forever be our hero. Judy's greatest joy was her family, especially the many times when we all gathered together. Recently she discovered the fun of following everyone on Facebook. Her other pleasures included sewing, crocheting and reading, all which she loved sharing with others. Judy is survived by her husband Gary, mother Elizabeth Landis, sister Diane Angoni, both from Boise, two daughters, Debbie Hanchey of Boise, and Sandy (Jim) Dawson, and two sons, David (Dalene) Hanchey, and Steven (Becky) Hanchey of Twin Falls, and eight grandchildren, Brandon Titmus, Jessica Titmus, Rachel (Marcos) Monroy, David Hanchey, Matt Hanchey, Christina (Kyle) Skuza, Amanda Hanchey, Jake Hanchey, and one great-grandchild, Kolter Titmus. She also is survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and some very special close friends. Judy was preceded in death by her father David Bailey and brother Phil. A celebration of Judy's life will be held this Saturday at 12:00 p.m at Eternal Life Christian Center, 451 Orchard Dr. Twin Falls. Friends are encouraged to share their memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Rosenau Funeral Home.
