Obituary of Amos Ulises Dorpat

Please share a memory of Amos to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ulises Jesus Lopez was born in Ontario, Oregon on August 3, 2020. Because he was born premature, and with several serious medical conditions, he was transferred to St. Luke’s Children's Hospital in Boise to be cared for. Ulises spent the first 5 months of his life there and surprised everyone with his resilience. He was beloved for his sweet demeanor despite his intense medical challenges. The medical staff in Boise is outstanding and gave Ulises the support and care he needed during many crucial times in his life. When he was released from the hospital, Ulises was cared for by his first foster parent, Pat Smith. They had a special bond and she loved caring for him as much as he loved being cared for. He was frequently doted on by the many ladies in Pat’s quilting group, often sewing him clothes which were comfortable and suitable for all his medical needs. It was there that she discovered his ticklish spot under his chin which he loved! In May 2021, Ulises was transferred into the care of his adoptive Dad and Mom, Jesiah and Elizabeth Dorpat. Their bond was instantly strong, and there was no doubt that he was their son. They began calling him Amos Ulises, “Amos” meaning “Carried By God”. He was the youngest brother to Oakley, Avonlea, and Ramona who loved him fiercely. The Dorpats found so much joy in their sweet son! His “old man” wheezy laugh, his amazing hair, and his chubby everything brought daily laughter. Amos was embraced by a large family of Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunties and Uncles, and Cousins who all celebrated each milestone - when he learned to clap his hands, jump up and down, and sit in his special chair. Amos Ulises Dorpat passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021 at the Boise Children’s Hospital. Jesiah and Elizabeth were able to hold him as he passed from this life into the next, where his body is fully healed and restored. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Avenue East, Twin Falls, Idaho.
