I first met Glade Merrell when I attended Ricks College (BYUI) in 1980-82. I was blessed to have him as my teacher for church history and humanities where I memorized Robert Frost the Road less traveled. Br. Merrell was by far my best teacher I have ever had as he instilled in us a desire to love the Lord and serve others. I was also blessed to have him as a home teacher when I lived with Maxine Smith in the 13th ward for a brief time. He was always dropping by to bring something or serve. I learned from him what it meant to serve as the savior serves. I am grateful for all of the goodness that Br. Merrell rendered to so many. While I am glad that he is not suffering with any ailments at this time I know how much he will be missed. May we look forward to the resurrection and reunion with loved ones. May all of Br. Merrell's family and loved ones be blessed, especially Miles at this time of mourning and loss. You are in my prayers. Mary Elizabeth Cutler Aust
