Obituary of Janice Lenore Snodgrass

Janice Lenore Snodgrass, age 84, passed away in her home in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Sunday, March 6, 2022. She was born on June 3, 1937, in Stanton, Nebraska, to her parents Leonard and Emily (Prince) Schmucker. At age six, the family moved to Filer, Idaho, where she attended elementary school and would later go on to graduate from Twin Falls High School in 1954. After high school she worked various jobs including in the accounting department at Sears in downtown Twin Falls. In 1958 she married her loving husband, Verne, in the Fireplace Room at the Methodist Church in Twin Falls. Janice and Verne would go on to have two children, Mike and Theresa, and spent the next 59 years of marriage with one another. Janice enjoyed raising her two children, being their chauffer, den mother, counselor and best friend. She was an avid reader and music enthusiast, never would miss a BSU football game on TV, and very much enjoyed going to the Golden Eagles basketball games at CSI. She was involved with various women’s church groups over the years and was dedicated to music and the church so much so that she became a member of the Methodist Church Choir and sang with them for over 40 years. Over the years, she and Verne would travel the world together, and as her family grew, the joy of her life became her two grandchildren, James Michael, and Jefferson Scott. Janice is survived by her son, Michael (Debbie) Snodgrass, daughter, Theresa Guthrie, and her grandsons James Michael and Jefferson Scott. She is preceded in death by her parents, older sister Lotus, younger sister Lennie, and her husband Verne. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 1:00 P.M., followed by a social hour hosted in the Community Room at Rosenau Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
