I first met Cousin Lavern when he came to the ranch in Idaho. My dad was the Uncle mentioned. I wasn't in school yet but we became close friends. He was a very cool guy. He often played with me and my dog.
Lavern always stayed in touch with us. He and I talked just a week before his passing. We talked about our memories, family and about God. I told him my wife and I planned drive out in early summer for a visit.
I'm going to miss my cousin but I'll see him again.
