Obituary of Bette C. Cook

Please share a memory of Bette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bette C. Cook, 84 of Buhl passed away December 25, 2012 at St Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by family and Barnaby Bear given to her by Evan to go everywhere with her. Bette was born January 8, 1928 in Baxter, Missouri to Mitchel and Pearl Scott Garrison. Bette moved with her parents to Idaho in March of 1934. She graduated from Buhl High School in 1948. On October 10, 1948 she married Melvin L. Cook. Bette worked for Farmers National Bank for 25 years, retiring in 1990. In 1990 Melvin and Bette moved to the Moonglo Village in Buhl. The joy of Bette’s life was her children, grand, and great grandchildren. She spent many hours at sporting events supporting whoever was participating. She also found much joy in watching Green Bay Packers football with Steve and especially enjoyed Boise State Football, keeping track of many of the players. She loved to participate in the little ones’ birthdays and Christmases often rising very early to get there in time, and loved watching them grow and enjoy life. All she needed was an invitation and she would be ready to go. Mom’s most wonderful attribute was how much she could always make you feel special such as showing her pride in Terry’s talented brick work or just telling you how nice you looked. Even though we are overjoyed that she is in heaven with the Lord she loved so much, we will miss her greatly. Bette is survived by her children; Kathy Cook (Steve) Ewing, Terry L. Cook, grandchildren; Ray (Angela) Ewing and Rachel Ewing Pereira, Tera L. (Louis) Cook Zamora and Shelbie A. (John) Mavencamp Conner; great grandchildren Allie, Tyler, Elijah, Madison, Evan, Blaze and Saige. Funeral services will be held at1:00pm, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1231 Washington St. N., Twin Falls, with burial to be at the West End Cemetery in Buhl. “Maddy hoped that Granny Bette would get a healing Christmas miracle and she did as she entered the gates of Heaven this morning”. Services are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
