I had the great luck to be Nick's 1st and 2nd grade teacher, and to watch him grow up for 5 years at Acorn Learning Center. When I think of Nick in those days, and reread comments his other teachers and I wrote about him, I remember his love for adventure, his delightful sense of humor, and his diligence to succeed. He excelled in physical activities, loved snowboarding on our trips to Pomerelle, and always tried to set new mileage records in our yearly bike-a-thon. As every teacher noted, he was a joy to have in class. I was so sad and sorry to hear of his death, and know he will be missed by many. My sympathy to his family. Chris Mannen
