Karl is such an amazing teacher and friend. His smile is contagious. EVERYONE who knew him loved him. He will be so missed at school. He was so proud of his wife and kids. He would light up whenever he talked about them. He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. I will truly miss seeing him everyday. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Monica Coombs

Love, hugs and prayers to the Gaston family. He was an example to all our OTE family & students. Karl worked wonders with the students at Oregon Trail Elementary. He was a gentle giant. The students loved his hugs, he warm smile and friendly demeanor. I will miss his smiling face and good mornings. Our banter back and forth about the Steelers and Patriots. Seeing his 2 children in our hallway at the end of each day. It was an honor to work with Karl Gaston. I will miss his good mornings and smile.

It's been an honor to work alongside Karl for the last 8 years at Oregon Trail Elementary. He was always quick to say hello or share a story. He was such an easy person to relate with. He was great at making people feel important to him. But it really wasn't him making them feel important, people actually are important to Karl. Karl is such a positive role model for all of those around him. I will truly miss him.

Uncle Karl I still can't believe you are gone. My heart has been broken into so many pieces over the last few months with losing dad and now you! It feels like just yesterday we were on our way to go for that 16 mile bike ride in the south hills and the adventures that crossed our paths that day! Or the day I finally said your name and I bugged you so much by just constantly saying your name that if it was possible to really wear your name out by saying it so much I would have many times by now! No matter how much pain you were in each day you woke up or how bad of a day you had, you still smiled and pushed through each day with love and warmth when you entered a room. There are only a handful of times I can say that I have ever seen a day with you not smiling. I'm sure going to miss you uncle Karl! Say hi to dad for me and tell him I love him. Please the both of you watch over me and the rest of our family. Continue shining bright and smiling up in heaven! We love you uncle karl!!!

The most amazing husband, father, brother, uncle and so much more. We will miss you so much. There is such a big emptiness in our lives. We are so blessed to have spent so much time learning and growing together. Please watch over our kids and check in on us from time to time. Until we are reunited in heaven. You will always be in our hearts. Love you Shonia, Braxton and Sophia.
