Obituary of Anna Ellen Frey - Harris

Anna Ellen Frey Harris, 96 of St. Charles, MO, our beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away July 7, 2014. Anna was born October 11, 1917 in Huggins, Texas County, Missouri the daughter of Homer R. Frey and Lou Ella Denton. At an early age she moved with her family to Idaho in 1928. However, her father became homesick so he moved his family back to Missouri around 1929-1930. Eventually the family moved back to Twin Falls permanently in 1936 where the family remained and lived on the Salmon Tract south of Twin Falls. They eventually moved to the Buhl and Filer areas. Anna and her siblings attended school at Berger and Hollister. Anna graduated from Hollister High School in 1937. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Twin Falls County Hospital. She later became a Dental Assistant, self-trained by Dr. O.T. Luke in Twin Falls. From 1960-1961 Anna was President of the Idaho Dental Assistants Association. Later she went to work for Dr. Harvard Luke, MD as an Assistant and Receptionist. She also worked as a Dental Assistant in Covina, CA, and was an Agent for Northwestern National Life Insurance Co. and retired from the Insurance Department at the Carpenters Union in St. Louis MO. On June 2, 1979 she married Leon Everett Harris in St. Louis MO. He passed away December 12, 1999 in Kansas City, Missouri. Anna enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, shopping and spending time with her family. Anna is survived by her three sisters, Bessie (John) Clover of Nampa, ID, Ruby Helvey of Twin Falls, ID and Beulah Fisher of St. Charles, MO.; two sisters in law Juanita Frey and Teddy Frey; Fifteen nieces and nephews Susan Fisher, Larry Fisher, Deby Clover, Sandra Fretwell, Donna Masters, Larry (Shirley) Beezley, Thomas Beezley, Richard Frey, Mark (Cindy) Frey, James (Jackie) Frey, Quinton (Shellie) Frey, Wesley (Myrna) Frey, Michael (Becky) Frey, Mary Helvey, Nancy Helvey and her special nieces Flower “Hoa” Frey, Julie Ann Frey, Diane Frey and Carrie Beezley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon, her sister Blanche Beezley, her brothers Herman and Floyd Frey and her two nephews Nicholas and Jack Frey. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, July 14th at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
