Norman Edmund Hendrix, 87 of Filer passed away Thursday August 23, 2012 at the home of his daughter Norma in Filer, Idaho. He was born and raised in Lund, Nevada to Edmund Allen Hendrix and Marguerite Whitehead Hendrix. He married Edna Sharp November 9, 1945 in Elko, Nevada. They were sealed in the St George Temple on November 9, 1963. They lived in Murray, Utah for a year and then moved to Ely, Nevada. Norman worked for Harvey Young Inc. and was working for the Federal Aviation Agency when he retired. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many positions. He loved to go deer hunting, rock hunting, mining and spending time with his family. Norman and Edna moved to Wells, Nevada in 1972. In 2006 Norman moved to Idaho. Norman served in the Army during WWII in Company F, 503rd Paratrooper Division. Norman loved music and could play any instrument he tried. He played the Banjo, Guitar, Piano, Harmonica, Accordion, and the Organ. He is survived by his children Norma Wilkinson, Filer, ID, Trent (Jackie) Hendrix, Buhl ID, Rex (Spring) Hendrix, Sun Valley, ID and Raema Hendrix, West Jordan, UT., 19 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Edna, daughter Nancy, Son-in-law Frank Thomas Wilkinson Jr, grandsons Calvin Radabaugh, Scott Stephen Hendrix, parents, a sister Blanche and a brother Shirley Hendrix. The family would like to the Hospice Vision Group for their love and care for our father. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 27 at the Filer Stake Center in Filer, ID with the family greeting friends 1 hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Filer Cemetery with Military Honors by the Magic Valley Honor Guard and the Idaho National Guard Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home, Twin Falls.
