When I think of the days of my youth on the Salmon Tract my thoughts are filled with memories of the Griff family. My personal introduction to them was as a member of Boy Scout Troop 62 that met every Monday night at the Knull Grange Hall. Upon being discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1973 I returned to the Salmon Tract. My wife and I had recently committed our lives to Christ and were looking for a new church home. We were told of a church that the Griff family attended so I went to their house for a visit. Around Gene and Betty's kitchen table, family members talked to us about the Magic Valley Christian Center and their pastor, Del Storey. Sandy and I began to attend and in a couple years I was a member of the pastoral staff. Gene and Betty, Dick and Ron, were at my side during those very formative years or my pastoral ministry. Gene was a dear friend during those years. I pray God's comfort for his family at this time of loss. -Wayne Hoag-
