Obituary of Wallace M. Bernard

Wallace M. (Wally) Bernard of Twin Falls passed Thursday, June 26, 2014. Wally was born on October 31, 1936 in Shoshone, Idaho. He was adopted at birth by Myrrel and Irene Bernard of Wendell, Idaho. Wally was raised and attended school in Wendell until February 10, 1954. At that time he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on October 25, 1957. Wally returned to Wendell after his discharge and married his lifelong partner Wanda M. Emerson on May 24, 1948. Wally worked for Wagner Transportation, Hank Knoepfel Trucking, Montana Express, Garrett Freightliners and retired from Yellow Freightliners in December of 1995. After retirement Wally and Wanda shuttled cars for Latham Motors, Hertz, Con Paulos and Rob Green. Wally and Wanda had two children, Sonni and Scott. Wally is survived by his wife Wanda of 52 years, daughter Sonni (Clark) Hyvonen of Star, ID, son Scott (Gretchen) Bernard of Meridian, Id and 5 grandchildren Haley (David) Chamberlain, Rebecca Hyvonen, Henry, Abigail and Sadie Bernard all of Meridian and 2 great grandchildren Levi and Charlotte Chamberlain. At Wally’s request cremation will take place. Family and friends are invited to a gathering at Rosenau Community Room on Wednesday, July 2nd from 4-7 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
