Obituary of Jerry Weldon Ulrich

Please share a memory of Jerry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On May 29, 2012 Jerry left this world and was ushered into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jerry was born on January 3, 1955 in Blackfoot, ID to Jerry W. Ulrich Sr. and Rosella Ulrich. Jerry was the little brother of two doting sisters, Deborah and Cathy who adored him. Six years later he was no longer the baby but the older brother to Michele and a year later to his brother Eric. Jerry attended his elementary and Jr. High school years in both Twin Falls, ID and Las Vegas, NV. He attended high school in Las Vegas graduating from Western High School in 1973. While attending CCSN he went to work for Clark County, NV starting as a drafter in the Civil Engineering Department. He held various positions in the Engineering Department before retiring in June, 2001. In October, 2003 Jerry went to work for the City of Twin Falls and worked there until being diagnosed with ALS in April, 2010. Jerry loved to play baseball and football as a child until an eye disease forced him to stop playing contact sports. As a teen he started playing golf at the municipal golf course in his neighborhood by finding balls and selling them in order to pay for a round, a passion that was shared by his life long best friend Randy Clements. On June 9, 1979 Jerry married the love of his life, Brenda. They were married for 32 years, with a deep love for each other always keeping God at the center of their marriage. In 1986 they became foster parents and continued fostering children for 15 years, loving each child as their own and adopting three beautiful girls whom he adored. Jerry was excited to move back to Twin Falls, living close to his Uncle John and Aunt Wanda and their family, enjoying their company and playing a “friendly” game of golf with his Uncle John. After moving to Twin Falls the family started attending Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, Jerry considered the people there his “family”. Jerry also enjoyed the special kindness from the people he worked with at the City of Twin Falls, often overwhelmed and humbled by their concern and caring for him. Jerry is survived by his wife Brenda, daughter’s Cherilynn Ulrich, Tiffany Ulrich and Alexis Ulrich. Two grandchildren Christian and Jada. Brother Eric (Kim), sisters, Deborah Buckner, Cathy Hunt (Roger) and Michele West. Father and Mother-in-law Charles and Alice Gladden, brother in-law Charles R.
