Prayers being sent to the family from Rusty and Susan Olander of Wendell, Idaho. Ed was such a friendly man with a huge smile. Thats something we will not forget. He loved the Mexican BBQ's. I can remember one time he invited Rusty and I to a Mexican BBQ and he said this meat is good come and get some. Ed was dumping salsa on his meat and eating it. He said, get some of this salsa its good. I dumped some on my meat and took one bit and oh my goodness I started coughing, my mouth was burning and he said, let me get something to drink. I had tears rolling down my face and he said, a little hot isn't it. I looked at Ed and said, HOW are you eating that stuff? He laughed at me. Needless to say, NO more salsa for me. Ed would stop by our house to visit quite regularly. If he saw food on the stovetop he'd say, what ya got over there? He'd walk in the kitchen and say, are you going to eat this? I'd say, No. We ate what we were going to eat and then he'd say, can I have it? Ed would grab a plate and finish off what was left. Laugh!! In the next breath he would say, if my wife knew I was eating this she would get mad at me because I'm not supposed to eat this. I would always laugh at him. Ed would sit on my couch watching tv while visiting and fall asleep. He looked so peaceful and when he would wake up he'd say, its time to go and out the door he would go. Thanks for the food he would say. Weekly I would run into Ed at Walmart gathering jugs of chocolate milk and cookies for church night. He said, everyone likes milk and cookies. In the next breath he would say, how is Rusty. Is he staying busy? and I said, yes. Ed would say, well thats good he's a hard worker that one is. Ed will be missed by everyone that knew him. Ed was a FAIR man in business and when we did business with him he treated us very well. He was a man of his word and people like Ed are hard to come by anymore. As time goes on the memories will be there and the heavy hearts will get lighter. When you think of Ed you will be able to smile and laugh at the things he did that made you laugh. The Southfield families were blessed with a great man. We are SORRY for your loss. Rusty & Susan Olander
