Dan, I'm brokenhearted and deeply saddened by your very unexpected loss. I have always looked forward to seeing you again someday. You were an amazing person to be around. I was always touched by your silent kindness as a young kid of 11 years old. Always smiling, always listening, yet very little to say. I enjoyed your fun-lovingness as a teenager, so easy to talk to. Before I knew it, you were all grown up and serving our Country. I remember seeing you at church for the first time in years and how happy I was to see you alive back from Iraq. Though our little visit was so short, it was sweet. There were so many people who wanted to talk to you as well. I know you wanted to talk more but you also wanted to be polite to everyone else at the same time. That was who you were, among so many other amazing things. I remember as we said "see ya later", I thought as I walked away, please God, when he goes back, let him come home alive again, smiling as usual. I didn't know that God had other plans for you. Rest in Peace Dan. Thank you for serving our Country. You're forever my Hero. I love you and I will miss you always and forever, dear young friend. Till we meet again on the other side to pick up our conversation from where we left off. Always your eternal friend, Curt.

We have been listening to the fallen soldier song "Heaven Wanted a Hero So He Chose You." We are saddened you had to leave us so soon. We will always remember all of our camping, and family get togethers with family. And also how you said "I love You Guys". Danny went to Disneyworld in 1995 with my dad, my kids and I. That was the best vacation of my life. We all had so much fun. Danny was like a part of our family and I will never forget him. He will be forever in our memories. Jerry/BeckyMatt/Jordan/Baby Girls, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine your pain. Dan, I was so sad to hear the news of your passing last week. It's always hard to take in the thought of losing someone, even if you weren't as close to them as you once were. You start to think about the memories made and reminisce of the fun times that you once had. You were always so fun to be around. Ashley, Thanks so much for lighting a candle in Daniel's memory. I will never forget when you were in my class and asked if I was related to Daniel Brown and when I said I was, you said, "Man, he is HOT!" I still smile about that today as I think of memories of Daniel.

We the members of the United States Army, and his Comrades in Arms are here assembled to pay a lasting tribute of respect to our departed brother. When the call of our Country was heard, Daniel Brown answered; self was forgotten in the cause of the greater good. As a brave man, he marched away with the abiding faith in God, his Country and his Flag. The red of our country’s flag was made redder by his heroism; the white more stainlessly pure by the motives which impelled him; and in the starry field of our nation’s glorious banner, the blue has been glorified by the service he has given for American Ideals. O God, Father of us all, we here extend these final earthly tributes to our beloved comrade. Accept our prayers in behalf of the soul of thy servant departed. Welcome him to thy house to rest in peace. Look with mercy upon the loved ones bereaved by his passing. Comfort and console them through thine own tenderness. These things we ask humbly in thy name. As comrade after comrade departs, we march on with ranks growing thinner. Help us to be faithful unto thee and to one another. We beseech thee, look in mercy upon all of us here assembled and with thine own tenderness, console and comfort those bereaved by the hand of death. Heavenly Father, Bless our country with freedom, peace and righteousness, and through thy Sovereign favor, may we all meet at last before thy throne of grace in Heaven. And to thy Great Name shall be praise forever and ever. To the family and Friends of Daniel Brown, we thank you for the sacrifice you provided in support of his Service to our Country and hope to console you with the knowledge that his legacy will not be forgotten.

Our prayers are with you all right now. Dan was a very special young man and he will be missed by all of us. Dan exhibited those rare qualities that will cause him to be remembered in our hearts for a very long time. When Cory died, Dan was one of the first of Cory's friends to reach out to us. He exhibited a compassion and concern for our family that was years beyond his age. We were blessed to have known Dan, even for the fleeting time that it was. My deepest sympathy for the loss of someone so young & dear to so many. The Bible holds out a wonderful hope of seeing an earthly ressurection when there will be no more pain or mourning. (John 5:28,29 ; Rev. 21:3,4) "...the former things have assed away". Then we will see " the meek inherit the earth "& the Lords Prayer will be answered. ( thy will be done on earth) No longer will we even see war.(Isaiah 2:4) May these scriptures be a comfort now while you wait for the time when you and his twin daughters can welcome your Daniel back.
