Farrell Delroy Nelson passed away on Mach 11, 2012 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 5, 1940 in Idaho Falls and moved to Twin Falls in 1941. His parents were Farreld W. and Evelyn R. Nelson. Farrell was the youngest of three children, he graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1958, and enlisted in the Army. He went through basic training at Fort Ord, CA and was stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia, Maine, and Alaska. He was very proud of his military service and to serve his country from 1958 to 1961. Farrell enjoyed entertaining others with his stories about the Army especially during his service in Maine and Alaska. After the Army, he worked for his father whom owned Nelson Truck Lines. Farrell went on to work for Sears for 26 years and then 16 years with Cains and Furniture Outlet. He retired in 2005 having been a natural and gifted salesman. His first sales job was selling newspapers at the age of 8 on the corner of Shoshone and Main St. Since his younger days he loved to hunt, fish and camp and did so to the end. He also enjoyed having coffee in the food court at the mall with friends. Farrell married Janice Miller in 1963 in Twin Falls, they were married 49 years. Together they had three children, Mike, Ron, and Julie. Proceeded in death: his mother, father, sister Betty and brother Bob. He is survived by his wife Janice, son Mike and Bobbie Nelson of Vancouver, WA, son Ron and Amy Nelson of Twin Falls, ID, daughter Julie and Frank Vieira of Hauser Lake, ID, seven grandchildren- Stachya, Preston and Brady Nelson, Sariah and Alora Vieria, Alex and Elisabeth Nelson, two step grandchildren Andy Hurley, Travis and Emilia Hurley, and 1 great step grandchild Jesse Hurley. A heart felt thank you to Idaho Home Health and Hospice (Paul and Danelle), our family friends, Pastor Vi and Pastor Paul West. A special thanks to our son Ron, his wife Amy and our granddaughter Stachya Nelson for helping with the care of gramps in his final months. A viewing for Farrell will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Rosenau Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 14 at Rosenau Funeral Home.
