Obituary of Jerry Wayne Fowler

Please share a memory of Jerry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
God called home a kind, loving, and unselfish man suddenly and unexpectedly on December 30th, 2011. Jerry Wayne Fowler was born November 15, 1948 in Sikeston, MO to Chester and Elsinore Fowler. The family moved early in his life to Imperial Valley, CA where he graduated high school at Holtville High in 1966. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1974 as a radar maintenance repairman. He served mainly in the Azores, Portugal. In 1971, he married Rosetta Cook while living in Imperial Valley. They were blessed with three sons; Jerry Jr, Christopher Alan and Eric Lee Fowler. Years later they were divorced. He earned not only an impeccable work ethic but his union journeyman meat cutter while working at Alpha Beta Markets in Beaumont and Riverside California. In December 1978, Jerry and family moved to Twin Falls to work with Jerry Swensen at Swensen’s Market as the meat manager. Idaho became his lifelong home. He married Camille Jones on September 1, 1995 and added two more sons to his loving family, M. Jason and Tristan Jones. Jerry loved the outdoors especially all the times he would go hunting and fishing with his boys. His love of travel took him on several cruises to Hawaii, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. He and his wife Camille also have wonderful memories of their trips to Jamaica and Mexico. Orange and blue ran through his veins. Whether it be at all the home games or as an armchair quarterback, he supported and believed in his Boise State Broncos. Jerry retired in December 2010 after 32 years at Swensens and was proud that he never missed a day of work or sick day in 32 years. This past year he enjoyed being the groundskeeper at Pleasant Valley Golf course. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Elsinore, his infant son Jerry Jr. and recently his brother Gail Fowler. He left behind his loving wife Camille; sons Christopher A. (Tiffany) US Army/So. Korea, Eric Lee of Kimberly, Tristan Jones (Kristen Beck) of Twin Falls, and Jason (Jennifer) Jones of Portland, OR. Grandchildren Kenya, Olivia, Tanner, Leia, and Allie Fowler; Kylie Jo Jones, and Courtney Conklin and Alexis Beck. Brother Ron Fowler of Missouri, sister-in-laws Peg Fowler of Missouri, Debbie Lenington and Patricia Zitney both of Caldwell, Idaho. Several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and his most beloved buddy, Gus. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2011 at Rosenau Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2011 at Rosenau Funeral Home where all attendees are encouraged to wear blue and orange in Jerry’s honor. Burial will follow at the Rock Creek Veterans Cemetery. Family and Friends are invited to the Fowler residence after.
