Henry Melvin Willemstein, 85 of Twin Falls passed away Monday, December 7, 2011. Hank was born December 14, 1925 in Grand Rapids Michigan to Walter and Alida Willemstein. Hank was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he attended school. He served in the South Pacific with the US Army Air Force during WWII. After the war Dad married Mary Harper on June 19, 1948. They lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan where they had four daughters. In 1957 they moved to Southern California where they had two more children, another daughter as well as finally having their son. Dad worked for years as an Area Painting Supervisor for the Los Angeles City School District. Dad loved the Lord and served for many years in different ministries of the churches he was a member of. One of his favorite things to do was sitting in his easy chair reading his Bible and devotionals. He loved taking his family camping, water skiing and fishing. After he retired he loved working with his tools in his workshop creating many lovely wood items to share with his family. After he retired Hank and Mary moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where he served first as a Camp Host and later as a Park Ranger with Josephine County Parks. Hank married Mary Payne in 1991 after his first wife passed away. They enjoyed a few years of living in Arizona and then decided to move to Twin Falls, ID and winter in Arizona. Hank enjoyed volunteering and driving the shuttle cart for St Lukes MVRMV for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, a grandson and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his daughters, Kathy (Bert) Flameling of Twin Falls, ID; Karen (Marv) Pemberton of Milwaukee, Oregon; Mary (Steve) Dutton of Chino, CA; Sue (Gary) Hulbert of Victorville, CA; Patricia (Ken) Sprague of Rosamond, CA; a son Richard (Pat) Willemstein of Ontario, CA; four brothers; George, Phillip, David, and CJ Willemstein all of Grand Rapids, MI; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Twin Falls with Revis Turner officiating. Burial will follow on Monday, December 12 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home, Twin Falls.
