Obituary of Wayne Alvin Easterday

Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever, Psalms 23:6. On Sunday October 23rd, in the year of our Lord, two thousand and eleven, Wayne Alvin Easterday went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born in Eustis, Nebraska on November 25th, 1925 to Harmon and Vera Easterday, Wayne was the second child of four siblings. At the age of 14, Wayne and his family left Eustis, Nebraska and moved to their new family farm southeast of Castleford, Idaho. Upon leaving Castleford High School, Wayne enlisted in the US Army where he served with the 1st Calvary in the South Pacific during World War II from 1945 until 1946. In September of 1946, after directly arriving home in Idaho from the war Wayne met the love of his life, Irene Tipton, while she was waitressing, at the Peter Pan Café in Twin Falls, Idaho. Shortly afterwards, on January 11, 1947, Wayne and Irene were joined in marriage, where they faithfully remained for nearly 65 years. Their marriage produced six sons: Gerry, Rick, Lynn, Dave, Denny, and Doug. His parents, a brother and sister, and two sons Gerry and Lynn preceded him in death. Wayne is survived by his wife Irene, sister Clarice (Chick Webb) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sons Rick (Dena) of Castleford, Dave (Laurie) of Castleford, Denny (Barbara) of Buhl, and Doug (Tracie) of Lovelock, Nevada, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 step great-grandchildren. Wayne was loved by all and will be missed deeply. Eventually we will be reunited in the loving graces of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To all the guys at the watering hole, I will see you later. Graveside services will be held at the West End Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho on Friday, the 28th of October at 2:00 pm. Military rites will be provided by the Idaho Honor Guard and the Magic Valley Area Veterans. The family suggests memorials be given to the Castleford Baptist Church or the Castleford QRU. Services are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories of Wayne at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
