Obituary of Norman Charles Carroll

On July 21, 2011, Norm Carroll, 79 of Twin Falls died peacefully at his home with his family by his side. He was born on May 26, 1932 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Oliver and Willa Carroll. He attended school in Grand Junction, Colorado and was a star football player for the local high school, where he met his lifelong sweetheart Patricia. They were married in 1951 and were blessed with three children. He worked for Sears until 1958 when he moved the family to Twin Falls, Idaho. He started Coast to Coast hardware store in 1959 and moved to Jerome. He ventured on from that into a new business, BS&R Equipment Co. in 1968. After selling it to his son, Tim, he retired in 1990, and later moved to Twin Falls. He had a deep faith and was a mentor to many. He was active in the Presbyterian Church in Jerome as Elder and Deacon and taught many classes in theology, which he was very passionate about. He was a member of the Twin Falls Reformed Church in 1995. He and Pat had many happy times exploring the Snake River Basin and Bruneau Canyon. He loved learning about Indian artifacts, hiking, camping, fishing, and golf. He was quite talented in his wood shop and made many gifts for his children, grandkids, great grandkids, and friends through the years. He loved his family passionately and spent many hours sharing his interests and teaching them his many talents. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 siblings and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia, children; Daniel (Wendy) Carroll, Conni (Dale) Serr, and Tim (Jill) Carroll. Grandchildren; Kimber (Darwin) Dudley, Terice (Jason) Grigg, Matthew (Jenna) Serr, David Serr, Paula (Seth) Murdock, Andrew Carroll, Jake (Ruthann) Carroll and 5 great grandchildren, Kalise and Jerrica Dudley, Logan and Mackayla Grigg, and Nora Serr. A special thanks to Travis and Erin from St. Luke’s Hospice. The family suggests memorial be made to the charity of your choice.
