As one of her extended family members that she welcomed into her loving home, Mom was so very loved by me! She was a wonderful example of what love is to all who would meet her. I felt it the very first time I walked into her home and she treated me as one of her own! Even though we were hundreds of miles apart, every time I saw that wonderful smile of hers, I knew life was great! She is deeply missed and greatly loved! My love to the entire family, particularly my Sistas!

I have LOTS of memories I could share but here are probably my favorite...The look on her face when dad and I showed up at 1am in the morning on our motorcycles. She answered the door while we had on our cold weather gear on and she just about FREAKED OUT! - Grandpa had forgotten we were coming and didn't leave the door unlocked or a key for us. Then there was the time dad and I came up unannounced (we did that a lot, but of course someone always knew..usually Seana). We showed up at Seana's house and she took us over. Dad went in first while I stayed in the car in the driveway. He surprised her but the best reaction came with I walked in. She had her back turned as I came in. Once she turned around, she jumped...almost came out of her shoes. Then there was the time, Jeannette and I came up for a visit and we went to the falls. I wanted a picture of me picking her up so she was more then willing....silly grandma - I am, after all my father's son...ha ha. I took her to the railing and she just screamed! (I HAVE the picture to prove it!). However, my favorite memory of her was she ALWAYS was prepared to make my chocolate-banana-cream (and later, strawberries) cake. Never once did she EVER forget! I don't think I will EVER be able to eat one of these cakes again. I sure miss her but I know she's in a good place and is player Yahtzee or Uno with her new friends!

For many years Sam was my mother-in-law. These are memories I will treasure forever. Sam could feed an army on $5 and be better than any 5 star restaurant. Each dinner was an event which no one wanted to miss. And let's not forget her famous birthday cakes - take your pick; chocolate with bananas or white with strawberries and always whipping cream frosting. I'll never forget that Cherry Vanilla was John's favorite ice cream because that is all she bought most of the time. John and the kids always came first in her life. She taught me that warm sweet tea eased a babies bout with colic which Dean was very grateful for this tip!! Many hours were spent around the kitchen table after the kids went to bed playing partners against Gary and John in pinchole. Enjoyed very game and to this day I think of her each weekend when I play pinchole and all the fun times we had.

One of my favorite people in the whole wide world! John's mother was someone who inspired me to be more like her; happy, in love with life and always giving and laughing! A truly amazing woman who was loved by so many because of the love & joy she gave to others. You will be sorely missed Sam, enjoy this next phase of your life journey!

I have so many fond memories of Grandma. I always looked forward to traveling to Idaho for vacation because I was going to eat Grandmas home cooking, drink Grandmas coffee, play Nertz and Mexican Train Dominoes and have to tell her to stop skipping my turn. The best part about visiting, I was going to get a bunch of her hugs. Grandma had a way of making anything better, whether it was a meal or your entire day. She was just that special! She always lit up the room with her smile. She loved her friends and family unconditionally. You will be missed by many people, Grandma! I am so lucky to get to call that. Love you bunches!

My favorite memories have come from playing games with her and my family. The best food I have ever tasted has come from her kitchen. And the greatest hugs that I have ever received have come from her. My grandma was truly a special person and this world has lost one of the good ones. I love you and I will miss you everyday.

Sam (and John!) were the very best neighbors! I could always count on them for anything. If I needed help or just to have a good laugh. We spent lots of time "sitting on the fence" which usually meant John and I were talking til Sam came to find John/join us for laughs!! I can still hear her laughing - she had the biggest heart, always there with lots of love, support and great food! I always felt more like a part of the family than just a neighbor. She was so gentle at times, but also had a "spunk" about her that I so admired!! I am so blessed to have known Sam and will miss her greatly!
