I met Mr. George Spee back in the early eighties. I was a friend of the family and he and Mrs. Jean would stop by and spend a few days when they were in the neighborhood. He very much was a man of God and would give you the shirt off his back, if you needed it. No one was a stranger and he left a lasting impression when he parted. Two things come to mind when I think of him as I often do, first, yes he was a handyman that didn't mind tackling any size job. The second and this one I smile about when I think of it was, when there was nothing to do around the house, he would get in his car and just ride. He did not know the area, but he always found his way back. Then sometimes we would talk about his journey that day and it did include stopping and visiting a church or two that he found that day. Not a suprise to me. Mr. Spee, I know you are where you preached about for so many years. You were an angel on earth, now you are an angel in HEAVEN. You will be missed by so many!! Till we meet again my friend. W.M.K.
