Obituary of Roger Q. Kalbfleisch

Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roger Quinton Kalbfleisch was born on December 26, 1941, to Lawrence S. and Golda (Meyers) Kalbfleisch. Roger was born, raised, and attended school in Filer where he met the love of his life, Carol Diane Schuyler. They were married in 1962 and had three sons. Roger and Clyde “Jake” Jacobson started K and J construction in 1971, specializing in steel building construction. They ran the business together until Jake’s passing in 1986. Roger continued to run the company for years eventually changing the name to Kalbfleisch Construction. His son Jeff now runs the company. He found a great satisfaction in providing high quality in the buildings that he put up, and enjoyed pointing them out to anyone he was with. Roger loved the Lord and lived his life accordingly. He believed strongly in supporting his church, Filer Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed gospel music, especially when Carol was involved in it. Roger was very proud of Carol and her musical endeavors. He loved spending time with his family, vacationing in the Mountains or just romping around the house. He especially enjoyed his grand children and great grand children. He enjoyed helping others and never wanted recognition for it. He had an amazing sense of humor that he continued to show even in his last days. Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Ruth (Beymer). He is survived by his wife, Carol; brother, Ken (Glenda); sister, Gwen Nettleton; sons, Kelly (Char); Tracy (Janie); Jeff (Misty); eight grand children, Kailee (Justin), Ashley, Danielle, Kristy, Tiffany, Brianne, MaryJo, and Andrew; and two great grand children, Mila and Vada. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Rosenau Funeral Home with burial to follow at Filer Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share their thoughts and memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
