Obituary of Phebe Laura Stansell
Please share a memory of Phebe to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
My beloved sister Phebe L. Stansell, 52, stepped into the arms of Jesus on Sunday February 20, 2011 at St. Lukes MVRMC after a short illness. Her unexpected departure leaves us both sad and lonely, but Phebe is now pain free and happy. Phebe was born on December 28, 1958 to Berniece E. Stansell in Jerome, ID.
Phebe completed high school and one year of college at CSI. She had been interested in photography and took thousands of pictures, mostly with her little Kodak, over the years. Phebe started her work career at age 16 at MVRMC in the kitchen washing dishes. After college, she started work as the unit secretary on old 4th Floor. In 1982, old 4th and old 3rd East merged to become the present 2nd North. Her Sister Paula worked day shift secretary and Phebe worked evening shift. She was the secretary for 23 years.
Phebe loved God and her family, her Pastor and his wife and Church family. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Temple Apostolic Church. Phebe loved music and like to sing. She had sung solos at church on occasion. Phebe also liked to read her Bible and all sorts of other books. She loved WWII history.
Phebe had friends from all over. She’ll be remembered for her intelligence, her quick wit, her snappy comebacks, and her gift of storytelling but mostly, she’ll be remembered for her gales of laughter and her kind, caring, loving heart.
Phebe was preceded in death by her mother Berniece E. Stansell, grandparents O.C. and Bernice Stansell and various uncles, aunts and cousins. Phebe is survived by her Sister Paula Bennett, niece Whitney Bennett, and great nephew Gabriel Bennett, an aunt and uncle, and various cousins. Phebe will be greatly missed by all, especially by her sister Paula.
Funeral services for Phebe will be held at Bethel Temple Apostolic Church at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 24th, 2011. Friends may call at Rosenau Funeral Chapel from 4:00 until 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 23rd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Phebe’s name to Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E, Twin Falls, ID 83301. Family and friends are encouraged to share their thoughts and memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
