Coach Charlton was a highly respected person in our house as I was growing up. Mr. Charlton sensed that as much as I wanted to serve as manager of the Meridian High Warriors football team, I was too shy to apply for the position. So he asked me. That act of generosity remains a substantial piece of my life, and I shall always remember you. Thank you sir for the special attention given to me.

Frank was responsible for a major turning point in my life. When I had decided to work for Pan American Airlines, he was tenacious that I teach instead. He talked and talked to me until I made the decision to return to the Meridian School District and ask Jim Hoyle for a job. (At that point Chris encouraged me to get my masters at the C of I.) My entire life would have gone differently without Frank's foresight and intervention. Not only was I forever grateful.....so were my parents as my dad knew I was making the wrong decision to go with the airlines. Even earlier at Meridian High School Frank taught me to never give up. He taught me and my fellow students life lessons as well as typing in the classroom and sports on the field. He then became our friend as we reached adulthood. What a tremendous influence! What can you say. The very best school administrator Barb & I ever worked for. Frank was always the person that you worked your hardest for, as not to disappoint him. He made you elevate the way you taught, the way you worked with others, and the importance of why you were in education. We learned more about class, companionship, and integrity from a man who was second to none. Frank always put his students well being as his number one priority. He backed his staff but never failed to let you know if you were not doing the right things for the them. We missed you when you retired from education as we will miss you until we meet again. Love: Barbara & Jon Jund
