Obituary of Joy Deonne Moser

Please share a memory of Joy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joy Deonne Moser, 66 of Jerome, lost her courageous 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. On Aug. 4, 2010, surrounded by her family, she went peacefully into the loving embrace of our Lord. She was born Oct. 15, 1943 to Joseph Kelley and Lois Ivorine Rutherford in Twin Falls, ID. She attended elementary school in Jerome and Filer and graduated from Nampa Christian High in 1962. She was an active member of the school’s choir where she sang with her older brother Darrel. After high school she worked at the Twin Falls Hospital as an LPN. In 1963, Joy met and married the love of her life, Harry Frederick Moser. Together they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. In 1965 they relocated to Southern California where Harry was stationed in the Navy. They resided there for 26 years where she worked for private patients and convalescent homes as a nurse. In 1991, they returned to Jerome, ID where Joy was employed by St. Benedict’s for 8 years and her final place of employment was Jerome Cheese. She enjoyed being with her family, working in her yard and traveling. She was always an active member of her children’s lives and supported each of their activities. Joy loved to hear the roar of an engine on old hot rod or her son’s Harley coming down the road. In 2007, she enjoyed what she called the trip of a lifetime to Hawaii. She loved it there and was hopeful she would get to return. She fought an amazing fight against this cancer and allowed us to have her here on earth a while longer. She will always be remembered as a vibrant woman full of life who has inspired her children to reach their goals and never stop dreaming or believing that God will guide us if we just have faith. She taught us to be happy with the simple things in life, that God comes first and that family is important. She is survived by her husband Harry, three sons, Kelly Sr. (Robbie) of Wilmington, CA, Steve (Cindy) of Jerome, ID, Dean (Lisa) of Malvern, AR and one daughter Theresa (Eric) Mills of Twin Falls, ID. 7 Grand-daughters, Stephanie, Shaylene, Ashley, Brittany, Kirslynn, Jessica and Alexis, 2 grandsons Kelly Jr. and Jayson, her brother-in-law Chuck Moser, sister-in-law Doris Hall, as well as 5 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, and older brothers Damon and Darrel. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Steven Kohtz, Dr. Paul Montgomery and all of the loving nurses at the St. Luke’s MSTI center in Boise, ID. She has requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in her honor to Nampa Christian High. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 9, 2010 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E. with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, August 8 at Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share your thoughts and memories of Joy at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com.
