Obituary of Celeste M. Zimmerman

Celeste passed away on March 10, 2010 on her 89th birthday at Chardonnay Assisted Living facility. She was born on March 10, 1921 to Robert and Edna Hartzell at Melba, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. She still has one sister living. She graduated from Melba High School. She married Howard Tippin her high school sweetheart in 1939, moving to San Diego during World War II where they both worked in the aircraft factories. She was a “Rosie the Riveter” for B27’s. Howard passed away in 1975. She married Odis Henderson in 1978 and 8 months to the day they were married he passed away. She worked at the Twin Falls Bank & Trust for many years retiring to marry H. W. “Brick” Zimmerman in 1984. Brick passed away in 2008. Brick and Celeste were married for 24 years traveling all over the United States in their motor home and living many years in Mesa Arizona 6 months out of the year. They belonged to the FMCA group being very active with that group and having a lot of happy times with them. She lived at Lazy J many years moving to Chardonnay Assisted Living last June. She was so happy living there. She is survived by one daughter, Elaine(Bob) Wigington. Twin Falls, 2 grandsons, Todd(Jeni) of Gilbert, Arizona and Chad of Boise. She has 7 great grandkids which she was so proud of. Chaz, Brooks, Amanda(Jose) , Wyatt and Maddie all of Arizona and Tyler and Ashlin of Meridian and one sister-in-law of Glendale, AZ and many nieces and nephews. We want to give special thanks to the management and staff of Chardonnay for taking such good care of Celeste during the time she lived at that facility. Also, to the 2nd floor nurses who also took good care of her during her times at St. Lukes MV hospital in the past months. Also to Dr. Slickers and his staff and Dr. McClusky and his staff during the past years of mom’s illnesses, and to Visions, home health and hospice making Celestes final days on this earth comfortable and peaceful. The family suggests memorials to the First Methodist church, Twin Falls, ID general fund or the American Cancer Society. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E. in Twin Falls with Pastor Phil Airhart officiating.
