Obituary of David Paul Lively

David Paul Lively returned to the Lord on Sept 3, 2014 in Twin Falls, Idaho following a brief illness. David was born the first of five children to Phillip and Jene Lively in Twin Falls. He grew up in Wyoming, moving back to Twin Falls when he was in Jr High. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in1975 joining the Marine Corps as soon as school was out. He married Kathy Hougaard, his high school sweetheart in Twin Falls and together they had eight children…Kristi, Brian, Josh, Melanie, Becky, Andy, Linzie and Sam. He attended the College of Southern Idaho and Utah State University starting work at Hill Air Force Base in 1984. Some of his most treasured moments were bringing his babies home from the hospital and hunting, camping and fishing in Franklin Basin and Willow Flats with his family. David loved guns and was so proud of attaining and keeping his “expert rifleman” status during his entire Military career. He retired early from Hill AFB to go on active duty with the United States Army serving several tours in Iraq supporting “Operation Iraqi Freedom”. David proudly returned home with the rank of Master Sgt and a Bronze Star with a “V” for Valor. David is survived by his wife Kathy of Hooper, UT, Sons Brian and wife Stephanie of Hooper, Josh and wife Jessica of Loveland, CO, Andy and fiancé Kyelie McClean of Ogden, UT and Sam of Hooper. Daughters Kristi of Arlington, VA, Melanie and husband Andy McDermott of Taylor, UT and Linzie and husband Chance Preece of Hooper. He is also survived by his Mom and Dad, Phillip and Jene Lively; brothers Doug and wife Connie of Twin Falls, Russ of Jackpot, NV, and Dan and wife Nicole of Lewiston, ID. and a sister Cynthia of Twin Falls. Nine grandchildren and five nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Grandpa and Grandma Lively, his Grandma and Grandpa Worley and daughter Becky. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday Sept 8 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E in Twin Falls, Idaho with Pastor Mark Sjostrom of the Grace Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Hooper City Cemetery in Hooper, Utah on Tuesday September 9, at 11:00 a.m.
